Heading to Port Broughton
Left Coober Pedy around 8.45 am. Unfortunately quite a few roadworks out of Coober Pedy so was a slow trip for awhile!
We heard on the radio 2 roadhouses in SA had 2 truck drivers stop for fuel who later were found to have COVID ๐ฑ our hearts skipped a beat thinking it may have been where we had stopped. One was Ceduna & the other was Port Augusta (which was where we were heading)…. It was getting close to fuel & coffee time so decided we should be ok to stop - (had to remember to wear our masks everywhere now ๐คจ๐ท).
Headed on to Port Broughton for our last night. We were quite excited - Nikki & Micah had booked a cabin & were meeting us there. The girls didn’t know ๐. Arrived at lunchtime & set up ready for Nikki & Micah to arrive ๐ They were very surprised & excited to see us sitting outside our caravan as they thought we were still in the Northern Territory ๐ there cabin was right opposite the van ๐
We had a great afternoon watching the kids on the jumping pillow, we all played mini golf ๐️♀️
The girls skated on the new track they had in the park ๐ด
Even though the weather was starting to get cool the girls went on the water slide ๐♀️ There lots of laughs & shivering ๐ฅถ then back to the cabin for a platter while the girls had a spa to warm up ๐
We had booked into the Port Broughton hotel for dinner & although walking distance decided we would drive as it looked like it was going to rain ☔️ great meal there & headed back to cabin for coffee ☕️ We all slept well ๐ด
Girls wandered over to the van for a pancake breakfast the next morning ๐ฅ
We all packed up while the girls played on the Ninja equipment.
Even though we had to pack up & leave by 10 am Nikki, Micah & girls were allowed to stay & use all the equipment. We had a 3 hour drive home & had to unpack the van so said our farewells & left the Nikki & Micah & girls riding around the park in the go-karts.
We arrived back at the Dunes around 1.30 pm so decided we would eat lunch in the van & then unpack. When we arrived home, one of our residents, David & Mandy had a camp fire going in the caravan compound so sat over with them while we had lunch. Nice way to end the day….. then to some serious unpacking ๐
