West MacDonnell Ranges - Ellery Creek Big Hole

Thinking I was going to have the afternoon to read & blog there was a sudden change of plans & we de idea to visit Ellery Creek Big Hole this afternoon instead of from our next camp we are moving to.    The drive was a lot longer than we thought  & we had to be back by 5pm as they lock the gates so no-one else can come in.   We did tell them at the kiosk we were going & they said to let them know when we were back,

The drive was worth it as Ellery Creek was a beautiful waterhole surrounded by colourful hills & trees.

After watching a group of people go in for a swim & screaming out how cold it was I was glad I left my bathers back at camp ๐Ÿ˜Ž it was 35 deg today ๐Ÿ˜œ

We headed back to camp & lucky the gate wasn’t locked but there were quite a few people ready to camp for the night.   Tony started the chain saw for a few minutes & some old battle axe came around & asked what the noise was ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚.   There were 2 women & a lad listening to an audio book really loud & they were annoyed we started the chain saw….   Anyway we had a lovely fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ & cooked our lamb steaks followed by a nice scone with jam & cream ๐Ÿ˜‰ and the camp has now gone very quiet ๐Ÿคซ
