Darwin Race Day

Public holiday day in Darwin today with the races on.   After consulting with the Spencer’s we decided it was too hot to be at the races all day in the heat.  Word was we had to get there around 8 or 9 to get table & chairs!    A nice cheese platter & some bubbles were consumed at camp before getting in our race outfits & heading off around 2pm πŸ’ƒπŸŽ   We were going to book an Uber early but at $75 one way decided not to but by the time we ordered an Uber around 1.30 it had come down to $24 πŸ™„

Our racing outfits changed because of the heat & decided on “white” shorts & nice top - boys had their new shirts on they purchased in Darwin.    We all scrubbed up pretty well.

We had a great day looking at all the fashion, some looked amazing, some a little outrages, some way too short, especially at the end of the day after a few drinks & a few who should have stopped drinking hours ago πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

We also ran into Keith & some friends of Jude’s - Steve & Andrea!   We had a few wins but nothing to write home about.

The queue for an Uber after the races was horrendous so we walked to the Trailer Boat Club & had a nice meal sitting outside in Darwin’s beautiful weather.
