Ross River Resort

Left Trephina Gorge after a leisurely breakfast as we only have 12 kms to go!   Arrived at the “Resort” - I use this term loosely.  Not sure how they can use this term in some places.   The homestead is quite ordinary & they only serve lunches.  If anyone books a cabin they will cook dinner 🤷‍♀️ The bar & eating area is quite quirky 😂 and the camp ground is surrounded in gums & green grass.   Very picturesque!

All of us in the bar sitting on saddles - they were very uncomfortable 😜🤨

After lunch & setting up camp we walked back to the homestead from the camp ground to have a look & see what walks were around.   Well no mud maps but there was a mountain goat track to take to the top of a hill.  Jude got a few metres & turned around, Dean a little further & he turned around.    Tony went to the top.   I decided I wasn’t even going to try!!   The path had very round rocks on it which made climbing difficult.    Jude & I watched Tony, in case he slid down the hill, Dean went back to camp as we had some fire wood being delivered from the camp host

We were rewarded with an Icecream on the way home.    Dean & Tony chopped the firewood ready for our fire tonight.

We were cooking vegies in the coals & chicken shaslicks on the grill of the fire.   All turned out well & washed down with a few reds & wines 🥂🍷 our last night together 😜🥂🍷
