West MacDonnell Ranges - Standley Chasm

Packed up the van & on our way to Standley Chasm - arrived around 11 am.  Interesting finding our spot here as it is in a car park & we had booked a powered site.   Unfortunately day visitors park in the caravan powered sites so makes it awkward to get your spot, but a woman overheard me in the kiosk & said her husband would shift the car 🀨  eventually we were in!   No time to unpack much as Standley Chasm is best when the sun is overhead  so we set off on our walk.

Standley Chasm is very spectacular to look at & the path was an easy walk.   We met 2 couples while out there & had quite a long chat with them.

See if you can guess how this photo was taken - someone in Standley Chasm told us how to do it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

After our walk we sat in the kiosk talking to the people we met & then took some hot chips & scones back for lunch!
